The Perks of Knowing Christ in College

Being in College marks a new beginning. It’s a fresh start and the best time to set new goals, discover new habits, meet new friends, and establish new principles. It’s an opportunity to let go of the past, and move forward and embrace what’s ahead. It’s also the time of freedom and complete independence, the time where you will ask yourself what and where you really want to be. A chance to do some soul searching and seek what’s that empty space in your heart longing to be filled. A time that God will invite you into a relationship with Him, and start building a solid foundation in your life that will make you appreciate the Perks of Knowing Him in College.

1. New Life

You will experience a 180 degree turn around. Regardless of what experiences you had in the past, no matter how horrible you life was. He will make everything brand new. He will put a new song in your heart, and will give you another reason to smile again. He will bring you out from slavery to freedom, from the land of scarcity to plenty, from worshiping idols to worshiping a true and living God.

2. Authentic Wisdom

School taught us to get good grades no matter what. Without considering if you compromise your virtues or failed on the test of your character. He will open your eyes that more than passing the standard of human, living a life of integrity and honor is more valuable. True wisdom is not just based on grades printed in your transcript but how trained and equipped you are as you face the bigger world outside your Campus.

3. True Love

The common perception about love only revolves in loving the opposite sex and feeling butterflies in your stomach. Hence, set aside love for your parents, siblings and other people around you. He will reveal to you what true love is, love that is patient, kind. Love that does not envy, does not boast, and is not proud. Love that does not dishonor others, is not self-seeking, not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs. Love  that does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love that always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres.

4. Wonderful Friends

Friends who will be with you not just in good times or bad times, but even at you’re worst. Friends who are committed to bring out the best in you, even it means pushing you out of your comfort zone. Friends who wont tolerate your sugar coated excuses and lies, they will bravely confront you because they genuinely care for you. Friends who would rather tell you the truth than to talk back behind you. Being with them wont make you just talk about the latest fashion trends or what’s in and out in the entertainment industry but will make you think what you can do to create an impact to this nation and how to touch more lives. They are real treasure and rare to find.

5. Better version of yourself

You are wonderfully and fearfully made. Don’t settle for a second rate version of others if you can be the first rate version of yourself. You’re created unique and special. Accept who you are because there’s only one like you in this world. You’re not perfect because you’re still a work in progress. Time will reveal who you will be.

6. Wiser decision-making

Everything is permissible for you but not everything is beneficial. Contrary to what people say, God gave you freedom to do whatever you want, to pursue whatever you desire and to be whoever you want to be. He gave you freewill to decide for yourself but without wisdom you will end up making wrong and foolish decisions. You will get easily swayed by other people opinion because there’s nothing that guides and governs your life. Wisdom is knowing how to recognize not just good from evil but also from knowing whats not just good but best for you. You need a final authority in your life that will lead you to an abundant life.

7. Brighter Future

As you set out from the gates of your University ready to face the world. You know that you’re equipped with training, wisdom and experiences. With integrity of heart and skillful hands you know that you’re ready to get what he stored for you in the marketplace.
