Dearest Grace

birthday

From just a sweet, quiet, innocent, little girl, you’re now a fully grown woman. Time flies really fast. Another chapter of your life has ended, and I know another one will begin. It feels like only yesterday when you were just running and playing around with your friends, burning the midnight oil finishing your school projects, looking so beautiful in your cocktail dress for your first ever party as you attend your JS Prom, and marching on stage to get your diploma. You’re twenty three now and I know life will reveal more of its beauty and mysteries as time goes by.

In your special day,  a sincere and thoughtful message from me to you, a note that will surely warm your heart and touch your soul, sending you love and a lifetime of happiness. A message from me to you in your special day:

Remain Optimistic

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance in the rain. Don’t let the world change your smile. Enjoy every season of your life. Through it all remain strong and steadfast. Problem and difficulties are vitamins of champions.

Live with no regrets.

You can never turn back the hands of time. Make the best out of your life because in the future no matter how you want to turn it back, it’s not just possible. Give your 100% in everything you do, in that way you know you have given your all so whether you fail or succeed you know you did your best.

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes

Mistakes teach you important lessons. Every time you make one, you’re one step closer to your goal. Give yourself room to make mistakes, a chance to do some foolish things, and to try several things that don’t work. Give yourself a tap on your shoulder for trying. No matter how small the effort is, there is no progress without action.

Be patient with yourself

Everything worth having is worth waiting for with all your might. Success does not happen overnight. Achieving something worthwhile takes time. Building a castle takes much longer time than building an ordinary house.

Constantly Remind Yourself of your Dream

You will be knocked down so many times, but you just have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of your life. Constantly follow what your heart desires. Though it seems like it doesn’t make sense just keep on moving. Do what you love, not what you think you’re supposed to do.

Time heals all wounds

Even though you don’t admit it, I know you’re hurting inside. Perhaps, its from a rejection, wrong judgement,  or unmet expectation. Let go of that small piece of anger and resentment in your heart. I know you can love the unlovable because He first loved you. You can forgive the unforgivable because He first forgiven you.  Just give it a time and He will heal all your wounds and make you new again, just surrender everything to Him.

Let God write your love story

If you put your trust in mere men, they will let you down, but if you put your total trust in God, He will never let you down. Don’t rush love! There’s a right time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven. Right love at the wrong time is still wrong love. As a farmer wait patiently for the spring season, we can’t rush love like a fruit picked green or flower plucked before it blossoms. Our attempt to rush things can ruin its potential. Each season of our lives has a different emphasis, focus and beauty.

Trust Him

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together. Trust Him because He exactly know his plan for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).  The world may fail but his love for you endures forever. He loves you.

Always be grateful

If you want to feel rich, just count all the great things you have that money can’t buy. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17). Recognize that everything comes from Him and He used you as a vessel for His glory be displayed.

Sincerely Yours,

Your loving self

Thanks for reading and celebrating with me!
