Winning Battle Against Sin

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. -James 4:7

Sin is exciting and pleasurable. But slowly as its taking you captive, without you noticing it, your life is ruined. Gradually, you have fallen deeply to the point that you cant move. Dont be helpless and powerless as the enemy ruins your life. Check out the steps here on how to win battle against sin:

1. Give it up!
There will be some point in your life when you will be torn between what you want and what God wants, what’s good versus what’s best, what’s temporary to what will last a lifetime. A time where you will decide which path to take between two completely different roads. A time where decision has to be made to give up and let go in order to fully embrace the choice you made. If you’re struggling really hard, perhaps you need to confront the fact that you’re not yet dead to yourself. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! Someone has to die, not physically of course!

2. Submit yourself to God
You might have tried to change yourself several times but failed. Because its only God who can change you. Submit and surrender yourself to God. It is only Him who can set you free. The start of overcoming temptation is to shift your focus and turn to God. If you’re life is fully submitted to God, you dont have time to entertain sin and temptation. You’re no longer taken captive but a victor and a free man.

3. Resist the Devil
Know the enemy’s territory and dont cross the line. One thing leads to another. Dont think you’re standing strong, lest you fall. Temptations are always pleasurable and pleasing to the eyes, if you know you cant stand it dont even come closer, dont even dare to think about it. One thing to resist the devil is to totally shut it out of your system. Dont give him even a small chance for it surely knows how to take advantage of it. Again, fully submit yourself to God and you can resist the devil.

4. Remember: Only dogs return to its vomit
You dont have the mind of the dog, you have brain so use it. Dont keep coming back to the things you already have let go. You’re already clean and purified, dont go back to the place where you were found dirty and lifeless. Only fools repeat their folly.

5. Always listen to the Voice of Truth
The name ‘devil’ means ‘he who slanders’ or ‘the accuser’. Accusations is one of the greatest strategies the enemy uses to exercise control over people. Always choose to listen the voice of truth. While its main goal is to fill you with sorrow, regrets of the past and condemnation of what you did wrong. God voice offers you grace and relentless loves, a gift of new beginning, a life filled with beautiful promises and a future full of hope. All those arguments were already cancelled at the cross.

6. Enjoy your New Life
There is no way the enemy can enter any territories guarded by God. There is no place for evil and curses when the presence and blessing of God is present. Enjoy your new life. Remain in God and He will remain in you.
